I have to say, I really enjoy lifestyle newborn sessions. Everyone is super relaxed, able to snack, and big sisters are able to play with their own toys and scribble on themselves with markers! More on the marker later, let me introduce Baby Lincoln!
Haleigh said she had three days of inconstant contractions, ranging from an hour apart to five minutes. Haleigh & her husband Matt finally went to the hospital on a Friday and she was already dilated at 6cm. by the time they arrived. Her labor with Lincoln was super relaxing and peaceful. She was able to share her birthing experience with her Aunt and Sister-in-law, who helped document the birth by taking pictures throughout labor. Haleigh’s parents brought her daughter, Ella, with them in the morning to meet Lincoln. Her daughter was so excited to meet her little brother and kept saying ‘Can I have my baby?!’
Lincoln was born at 2:01 in the morning at exactly 39 weeks!
Originally, Haleigh was supposed to come to my studio in Mineola for Lincoln’s Newborn Session. I had called her a week before and asked if we could come to her. I enjoy more of the relaxed atmosphere of in home/lifestyle newborn portraiture and I am in LOVE with how this session went. Lincoln was a great baby and fell asleep instantly once we got him wrapped and warm.
We brought my posing bag, and were still able to get a few traditional images, which was great. Then we moved on to the lifestyle session. At which point, we found out that Ella (4) had drawn on herself with a marker. Haleigh quickly got the marker off and applied a bit of make-up to cover up what she couldn’t scrub off.
I have so many favorites from Lincoln’s newborn session – his little back wrinkles as Matt is holding him, the close ups of Lincoln’s tiny toes, Haleigh applying make-up to Ella’s face, there are just too many to list!
