Surprise Gender Birth Session – Trinity Mother Francis – Tyler Texas

Elated, and scared, and nervous and THRILLED were some of my feelings when I received my first Birth Session inquiry.  Since that first phone call, I have 100% completely fallen in love with this family!

I suggested that we meet before ‘Delivery-Day’ to get to know each other better.  We met at Faulkner park to let our kids play.  As we talked, the similarities between us could not be ignored.  From where we grew up, to the names in our families, I was astonished someone could be so similar!

I immediately felt overjoyed that this person walked into my life.

The day before baby was born, my client called to update me on her progress.  After we hung up, I told my husband ‘She won’t make it to tomorrow’.  In the wee-hours of the next morning, I got THE call.  Her husband told me that her contractions were already three minutes apart and that they were barely going to make it in time!

We all RUSHED to the hospital.

I parked, and ran to the front desk where I signed in.  Which of course, took literally FOREVER! (I’ve learned you can’t rush anyone in Texas, and had to take long, deep breaths as the man at the front desk was telling me how long my guest badge was valid for)  After my new-found wisdom of the validity of my badge, I went as quickly as I could up to L&D.

I was SECONDS late!  I felt crushed and deflated.

But I was also so happy for my clients.  My joy was restored when I saw their two sons patiently waiting to learn if they had a new brother or sister.  My heart throbbed when I heard their new baby’s cry, and a wave of peace came over me when Dad started praying over baby when he first held her.

After the birth of baby ‘H’ I stayed for a few hours, documenting their first moments as a beautiful family of five.
