When Holly first asked me about doing her maternity session in Mineola, it was hard not to totally freak out! You see, Holly and her husband Jason, are kind-of the biggest deal in Mineola right now, since the opening of their new restaurant, Cowburners BBQ & Taproom. I think my husband was more excited than me! Apparently I was his direct line to great BBQ. Every time Holly called to discuss her Maternity Session, Dan was always in the background shouting “Are they open yet?!”. Well, they opened in the beginning of May, and we’re SO happy for the fresh vibe they’re bringing to this East Texas town!
We had a lot of ideas for Holly’s maternity session, which included a big bridge at the Nature Preserve, a family picnic, and beach-cruisers. We took a Gator a few miles through the Hike & Bike trails out there, which was really freakin’ awesome! (I felt like flashing my VIP badge to everyone stuck at the top). Holly also had a quilt from her Great-Grandmother that we used in the beginning of their session. Finally, Holly mentioned they have these awesome beach-cruisers she wanted to incorporate. She wound up finding a vintage trike for their son Kyle, and those images turned out super freakin’ adorable!
Holly’s maternity session was on Mother’s Day, and I can not imagine doing their session on any other day. I got to spend my evening having an adventure and laughing with these amazing people!
